WHY NACM

Most professions have found the need to create a standard of conduct to guide the actions of its membership and to establish a basis of actions and consequences. The Nevada Association of Community Managers, Inc. (NACM) was formed as a means to identify highly ethical individuals in the community association industry, and will continue to recognize and certify only those individuals who agree to abide by the organization’s ethical standards.

By seeking and attaining certification, the NACM Member assumes an obligation of self-discipline above and beyond the requirements of laws and regulations. NACM’s Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Practice were adopted in order to provide guidance and rules for all Members in the performance of their professional responsibilities.

Compliance with the ethical rules depends first on each Member’s understanding of the rules and voluntary actions. Second, compliance is reinforced by peers and public opinion. Ultimately, compliance may depend on disciplinary proceedings against members who fail to abide by the rules.

NACM’s Mission Statement

NACM is the only organization in Nevada comprised entirely of and managed only by community managers, with memberships offered to management companies and other industry related practitioners.

NACM’s mission is to be recognized as a leading professional resource in the management of Common Interest Communities.

NACM’s vision is to represent the interests of the Nevada Community Managers by emphasizing education focused on the day to day aspects of managing, more structured training, and heightened issues on professionalism and industry ethics.

NACM’s goal is to play a major role in educating and influencing the State Legislature, the Nevada Real Estate Division, Common Interest Commission and State Ombudsman on the matters of new legislation and regulations that impact on the role and way the community managers conduct business.

NACM is committed to and will strive to provide the information, expertise and benefits to help its members make decisions and meet the challenges of the industry.

NACM’s intent is to establish its members among the industry’s best with a commitment to higher standards of practice ethical behavior so that Boards, homeowners and Community Managers work together in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
